Rebuild and patch vehicle and base objects, using TECH. | |
Description
Usage: !rebuild <target>, !patch <target>
Description: Usable by those with the CONSTRUCTION ability. This command works similarly to REPAIR and HEAL. It works only on vehicles (this includes exo-suits and some combat objects like weapon emplacements or bunkers). Rebuild differs from the previous commands in that when you rebuild a vehicle you also fill up its energon and re-supply any ammunition it may have. This is because vehicles don't self-heal and can't walk up and ask someone to refuel them! !rebuild is only available outside of combat.
!patch, if used by a character with Construction, will allow you to spend a combat turn to heal a small amount of damage to a suitable target, and this amount is increased by good Intelligence and Technical stats.
you may also !evaluate <target> to see a combat object's health level.
Building Objects
Unlike Weaponsmith or Demolition which allow user-generated coded devices, Construction does not, by itself, create anything.
However! Players may roleplay building defenses, both within the confines of a specific TP and as non-TP events. Construction is a vital ability if you or your faction wishes to build some coded defenses! While not completely required in order to build defense objects, it is certainly a boon to the effectiveness of the end result.
Players are welcome to discuss ideas with staff members(Preferably the Wizards) about what kind of item they wish to construct, and submit a proposal for what qualities the resulting object should have(Stats, attacks, size, abilities, ect). Players are then encouraged to roleplay the design, construction, and unveiling of their new object(Be it a building or a turret or a spacebridge, ect), and submit logs of the RP. The admin who will construct the final object upon review of the logs, and the staff have final say in the actual qualities the item will possess.
Examples
If a character without Construction tries to build something, they may attempt to do so, but the results may not be quite what you expected. If Blueshift (Not a technically skilled character) designs a super weapon, all you might get is a terrible shoddy bridge with a propensity for falling down.
Characters who have both the Construction ability and the appropriate intelligence and skills can construct interesting and effective items, such as the myriad of weapon objects during RISK TPs, or the Cyclonus Tower that stands near Tetrahex in Mexico.
