Never discount the importance of good armor.
Armor
Armor determines a character's relative ability to absorb damage.
Armor is 0-10*, like most stats, and is purchased when you create a new Original Character (OC). OCs cannot buy more than 8* Armor in CharGen.
Armor can be upgraded.
Most Transformers have 50 Armor in robot mode.
An Armor of 60 in robot mode means you're wearing significantly more Armor than what the majority of Transformers are capable of wearing.
An Armor of 70 in robot mode means you're wearing Armor comparable to your faction's leader and high-end commanders. You're expected to provide good justification as to why you're capable of wearing Armor that only a small percentage of the Transformers are capable of doing so. Think about what special trait makes your OC capable of doing so.
Armor in other modes has a wider range of values.
On average, Armor reduces damage by about Armor/10. For for example, a character with 37 Armor would take, on average, 3.7 less damage from attacks than a character with 0 Armor would.
The tables below are merely a guideline. It is definitely possible, for example, to be an unusually fragile tank or an incredibly durable motorcycle, if one has a good enough justification.
