Hide at will, sneak attack on reveal. | |
Description
While CLOAKED you are invisible but not necessarily noiseless. People with enhanced senses will sometimes be able to find you. People with Radar will have an easier time finding you. While you are CLOAKED you may not attack or be attacked, but you can access the special "HIDDEN" defense level. If you are detected before you can disable your cloaking systems you will be automatically set to the OFF-GUARD defense level, which not only makes you attackable but makes you easier than normal to hit, similar to being CRIPPLED.
You may activate your cloak either out of combat, or on any of your turns during combat, which will consume both your turn and ten points of Energon. This also automatically switches you to the HIDDEN defense level. After you reveal yourself but while you still have the HIDDEN stance, your next attack will be a Sneak Attack, which will give you a bonus to damage and to-hit. After you make this attack, your HIDDEN stance will switch back to NEUTRAL, too late for you to change it to anything else before the inevitable counterattack. The Sneak Attack is automatically triggered via the regular !attack command.
Commands
!cloak/on - Enable your cloaking device
!cloak/off - Disengage your cloaking device
!defend hidden - Switch to the special HIDDEN defense level
Strategies
You may also do actions such as !pass, !aim or !analyze while cloaked and nigh-invincible! Look out for Red Alert, though.
Notes
Cloak is a "rare" ability and requires Wizard approval if you wish to buy it as an upgrade, which means that your application needs to be extra-good, and then the active wizards will vote on it.
Cloak does flat bonus damage.
